New General Manager for GWR Australia and Radical Australia East

Accomplished automotive professional David Steinwede has joined Sydney-based motorsport services organisation, GWR Australia and its Radical dealership, Radical Australia East, as General Manager.

Steinwede comes to GWR and RAE with more than 16 years of experience in the luxury and prestige automotive sector. He has worked in a variety of roles including service advisor, business development manager, parts manager and general manager under the auspices of the Autosports Group, which operates a national network of luxury and bespoke car dealerships.

In addition to his automotive expertise, Steinwede is also a passionate motorsport enthusiast and has previously competed in World Time Attack.

Steinwede’s role with GWR and RAE will see him overseeing operational areas of the business such as the workshop and parts inventory, along with commercial relationships.

GWR Australia Managing Director Garth Walden said Steinwede’s appointment as General Manager is a significant and essential step in the development of the business.

“It’s an exciting time at GWR, especially with us becoming the exclusive Radical dealer for Eastern Australia, but our continued growth has resulted in an increased workload,” Walden said.

“It is critical we have the resources to ensure our customers continue to receive outstanding levels of service and support.

“We identified the need for a General Manager to implement systems and processes to maintain the highest possible standard of customer services such as vehicle servicing and parts supply.”

Walden said Steinwede’s experience across a range of roles in the automotive industry made him an ideal candidate for the position.

“David has worked his way up the automotive ladder, from a trainee service advisor to a general manager,” Walden said.

“This has given him an armoury of knowledge across many different functions of the automotive industry, which will only serve to benefit GWR and RAE.”

According to Walden, GWR and RAE customers will be the big winners from Steinwede’s appointment.

“All our customers – be it our drivers or people who purchase Radicals through our dealership – will benefit from improved engagement, increased event opportunities and more streamlined structures for services such as vehicle maintenance and parts ordering,” Walden said.

“David’s vast experience in managing parts inventories will be especially useful for the Radical Australia East arm of our business.”

With Steinwede managing the key functions of the organisation, Walden’s role will shift towards customer relations and business development. “Having someone of David’s calibre on board means I can spend more time with our customers and clients, understanding their priorities and making sure our business can meet their needs. There are some very exciting times ahead at GWR,” Walden concluded.
